- Lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in children have complex etiologies and highly heterogeneous phenotypes.Conventional symptom-based assessment is often insufficient for precise classification,which may lead to homogenized treatment and unsatisfactory outcomes.Urodynamic study (UDS),as a core technique for evaluating bladder and urethral function in children,can objectively quantify detrusor function,urethral closure status,and storage-voiding coordination,thereby providing key evidence for phenotypic diagnosis,risk stratification,and individualized treatment planning of LUTS.This article systematically reviews advances in pediatric UDS technology and its current clinical applications,integrates relevant research findings from multiple children’s hospitals in China,and focuses on the core strategies,therapeutic advantages,and existing controversies of UDS-guided personalized treatment for LUTS.It also analyzes the current bottlenecks and challenges in the clinical implementation of UDS and proposes targeted future research directions based on the limitations of existing studies,aiming to provide reference for improving the precision of diagnosis and treatment of pediatric LUTS.
