Recent advance of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway in hepatoblastoma
- Abstract:
- Hepatoblastoma (HB) is the most common liver malignancy in children and its incidence has been rising over the last three decades.Surgery excision and cisplatinum-based chemotherapy are currently major treatments for HB.Numerous researches have demonstrated that Wnt signaling pathway plays important roles in hepatocyte generation, liver development, regeneration and injury repair.Meanwhile, abnormal Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, as a major marker of HB, affects the occurrence and development of tumors.And some molecules in the pathway have potential targets.By integrating domestic and foreign researches of HB and Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, this review elucidated the mechanism of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, examined its relationship with the occurrence and development of HB, summarized the roles of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway in the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of HB and provided novel rationales for clinical treatment of HB.
