Current status of early screening and conservative management of developmental dysplasia of the hip

- Abstract:
- Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) is the most common congenital musculoskeletal abnormality of hip joint.Within the increasingly well-established screening system,more accurate and sensitive methods of physical examination,ultrasonography and radiography provide a possible early diagnosis.It is of vital importance for a prompt management of DDH.Conservative measures of abduction braces and closed reduction are recommended for children aged under 1.5 years.This review has summarized recent advances of screening and conservative treatment of DDH.
