- Abstract:
- ObjectiveTo explore the feasibility, safety and operation points of laparoscopic assisted resection of types Ⅲ and Ⅳ sacrococcygeal teratoma (SCT) in children.MethodsTwelve SCT children undergoing laparoscopicassisted resection were analyzed retrospectively. The clinical types were Ⅲ (n=8) and Ⅳ (n=4).Laparoscopic liberating of intraperitoneal part of tumor and ligation of tumor blood vessels were performed through a sacrococcygeal incision. Then total tumor removal was accomplished.ResultsAll operations were completed smoothly without serious complications. Two cases were lost to followups and the remainder was tracked for over 6 months.Only one case recurred.ConclusionLaparoscopically assisted resection of SCT is effective, safe and miniinvasive in children.
