Abstract:
Objective To Summarize the diagnosis and treatment of retroperitoneal teratomas（RTs）.MethodsA retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 29 cases of RTs patients admitted to our department from May 2000 to March 2012， and analysis of its clinical manifestations， ultrasound， CT， MRI and other imaging findings， preoperative determination of serum AFP and histopathological classification.Results29 cases were performed with complete resection of the tumor， and all patients were cured and discharged.The adjoining organs and vessels were injured， were repaired during operation in 5 cases. In our cases，mature teratoma twentyone patients， grade I immature teratoma in two， grade II immature teratoma in two， and grade III immature teratoma in four.ConclusionsPediatric RTs which is generally big and internal should be fully understood for the relationship with the surrounding organs, tissues, in order to reduce intraoperative injury and postoperative complications.With preoperative AFP measurement judging tumor properties，the age factor should be taken into consideration.
