Abstract:: 【Abstract】ObjectiveTo study the clinical effect of ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt surgery in infants aged below 10 months with kinds of serious hydrocephalus.MethodsA retrospective survey in 120 cases with serious hydrocephalus: congenital hydrocephalus 20 cases, posttrauma hydrocephalus 30 cases, craniohemorrhage caused hydrocephalus 15 cases, hydrocephalus complicating purulent meningitis 43 cases, tumor caused 12 cases.Results120 patients underwent VP shunt placement for kinds of serious hydrocephalus result in goodness.ConclusionsEarly VP shunt placement is an effective treatment for serious hydrocephalus in infants.
