- Abstract:
- ObjectiveTo describe a simple and effective technique for repairing small urethrocutaneous fistula (UCF) after hypospadias repair.MethodsThis procedure was performed in 18 patients with solitary fistula after primary hypospadias repair. The mean age was 6 years (range:2 years 5 months to 11 years 9 months). The average diameter of fistulae was 2.25 (1-3) mm.There was no onset of perioperative complications. All UCFs were fixed by suture ligation.ResultsAll fistulae were located on penile shaft, including anterior (n=5),middle (n=10) and posterior (n=3).The average followup period was 20 (9-36) months. No recurrent fistula was observed.None of them had voiding difficulties.ConclusionSimple suture ligation is effective for repairing small UCF (diameter≤3mm).
