Expression of melanoma antigen-1 mRNA in nephroblastoma and its clinical significance

- Objetive To investigate the mRNA expression of melanoma antigen-1 mRNA in Nephroblastoma and its’clinical significance. Methods MAGE-1 mRNA expression were determined by RT-PCR in 32 cases of nephroblastoma tissues and 10 cases of paracancer renal tissues and 6 cases of renal tissue without tumour.The relations about MAGE-1 mRNA expression were also analyzed in nephroblastoma’s different clinical stage and different pathology type. Results Some degree of MAGE-1 mRNA expression was present in all samples.The MAGE-1 mRNA level was 1.4-fold higher in tumour tissues than in paracancer renal tissues(t=0.853,P>0.05)and 2.58-fold higher than in renal tissue without tumour(t=2.35,P<0.05).We also enduce that MAGE-1 mRNA level do not correlate with pathology type and clinical stage in nephroblastoma(P>0.05). Conclusion MAGE-1 mRNA in nephroblastoma is expressed so high that it has important significance for immunotherapy and prognosis of nephroblastoma.
